I’m Meghan and I have Breast Cancer.
Late in the evening of January 27th, while mindlessly scrolling Instagram and applying my skincare routine, I came across a post saying that a Peloton instructor, Leanne Hainsby, was battling breast cancer at the tender age of 35.
After reading Leanne’s story, I realized that I hadn’t been checked in a while because I’d been pregnant or postpartum for the previous 4 years. So, I examined myself, mid-face mask (and teary-eyed, because Leanne’s post was SO raw).
I found a lump in my left breast.
Three months, several biopsies, ultrasounds and MRIs later, I’d been diagnosed with stage 2A breast cancer and am positive for BRCA2.
This blog is chronicling my journey through everything after my diagnosis, from my bilateral mastectomy to the months of chemo and radiation that follow to ensure it’s gone for good.
